Eirdís Ragnarsdóttir is an Icelandic-Chinese painter whose work explores identity as something fluid rather than fixed. Working intuitively, she allows faces and forms to emerge through the process of painting.
Neither portraits nor abstractions, her works inhabit a space between the seen and the felt. Fragmented figures become vessels for memory, emotion, and imagination, reflecting the shifting nature of the self.
Ragnarsdóttir studied psychology and fine art at New York University, trained in traditional oil painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, and apprenticed under master painter Tong Hongsheng.
Her paintings have been exhibited across China, Japan, Iceland, Europe, and the United States. Alongside her studio practice, she has collaborated with international brands and institutions including Fujifilm, Gucci, Burton, Hotel Éclat, and Arche.
